Terrace Wolfpack

Public Art
Metal wood sculpture of a wolf with a blue sky in the background.
Steve Rogers Artist Bio

Sculpture: The Terrace Wolfpack

Created: Summer 2020

Location: First lookout - Terrace Mountain Trail.

Address: Trailhead located at the junction of Johnstone Street and Walsh Ave

The Terrace Wolfpack was created by Steve Rogers who operates Great Bear Ironworks. The Terrace-based artist is a blacksmith, photographer and videographer by trade who created one Terrace’s most photographed art installations: the Terrace Wolfpack.

Located at the first viewpoint on the popular Terrace Mountain recreational trail, the installation includes six metal wolves in various positions overlooking the spectacular Skeena River. The hike up to see the wolves takes about 15 minutes and it’s worth every second of the approach. Don’t forget to pack your camera – photos of the wolves never disappoint, no matter the weather.

An ode to the strength and resilience of wolves, this popular destination is a must-see when visiting Terrace. Whether it is sunset, sunrise, a beautiful sunny day or a foggy fall day, the wolves keep watch over Terrace and its people.
