Rod Brown’s inspiration for the colour palette on this mural was reflective of the feeling you get when you are out in the alpine in the early morning or late evening. With the sky’s colours shifting and creating an ethereal light, the pinks and oranges were inspired by the in-between times dawn and dusk and the sun is shining. Brown was drawn to the concept chosen by the property owners to portray people recreating in nature. Brown’s made his home in the northwest in large part because of the easy access to natural places, but also the lifestyle that accompanies living here. This piece is a celebration of that lifestyle and why so many people are compelled to make the Terrace area their home.
