Terrace-based artist, Casey Braam can’t help but celebrate the stunning wild spaces and wild creatures that surround him. A prolific muralist and working artist, Braam has painted numerous murals in Terrace. Getting outside and enjoying the many pursuits of an outdoorsman are what drive his creative exploration and bringing nature to life in multiple mediums is his passion. This mural of a cow and calf moose is based on a photo by Terrace-based wildlife photographer, Bradon Broderick.
The idea is that it is immersive, each wall is designed to stand on its own but also tell a story about this wild place. Braam often likes to allude to the impact of humans in wild places, so the cut-off stump, is an example of that. This mural is a bit of an ode to resiliency to see these big amazing animals that are still around even though humans continue to push into wild environments. An interesting note, Casey purposefully painted the moose to scale of what they can grow to be in the wild – they are BIG!
