Wesach Mountain

Murals
Wesach Mountain
Amanda Stella Artist Bio

Mural: Wesach Mountain

Created: Summer 2022

Location: Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store

Address: 4544 Lazelle Ave

This is Amanda Stella’s first public mural in Terrace, and is a tribute to the beauty of Wesach Mountain located north of Terrace. Stella chose to paint Wesach Mountain because she wanted to take advantage of the panoramic wall on the building. Each wall surrounding the Hostpital Auxiliary Thrift Store building are interpretations of various views a hiker would have while in the alpine of Wesach Mountain and are all based on various photographs Stella has taken on hikes in that location. On the west wall is the view of the valley below where the cedar river is and all surrounding moutains. The trail in the foreground can be seen wrapping around the corner to the south walls, also the front of the store, where one can see some of the vegetation that grows along the alpine trail. This continues again around the next corner where the viewers, on the east wall, look up to Wesach's rocky summit.

Amanda Stella

Artist Bios

Amanda Stella’s first public mural in Terrace is located on the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store building, though you can find more of her murals indoors at the Spotted Horse Nursery and the Terrace Animal Shelter. Stella was born and raised in Terrace and has spent much of her adult life here.

“I've always been dabbling in art whether that be drawing, painting, photography, or mixed media and have always had a love for nature, so it's no wonder when I'm given the chance to make art for the community I want to show off and enhance what already surrounds us.”

Drawing inspiration from mountains, nature and her experiences exploring areas off the beaten path, Stella’s work is bright, vibrant and reflective of where she lives.
