This was the first mural that kicked off the efforts of the Skeena Salmon Arts Festival public art project. The building is owned by Dave Gordon, the founder of the arts festival society and its current President. Painted by Facundo Gastiazoro, Amanda Hugon and Travis Hebert the colourful installation of a salmon wrapped in rays of light, it was the also the project that led to the creation of the artist collective Raven Tacuara, that now includes Terrace based artist Stephanie Anderson. The theme of salmon and its importance to the region is evident in the design. The piece also acknowledges that Terrace sits on the unceded territory of the Ts’msyen people and is reflected in the crest designs in the background – the crest designs were painted with permission from the Kitselas First Nation.
