Raven Tacuara Collective, featuring Facundo Gastia, Amanda Hugon, Travis Hebert & Stephanie Anderson.
This massive mural created by the art collective Raven Tacuara is one of the anchor murals produced by this group of artists in the heart of downtown Terrace – easily seen from George Little Park and the summertime Skeena Valley Farmers Market. Inspired by the circle of life and the importance of salmon to the natural environment in the Skeena region, it is symbolic of the energy and nutrients the earth receives when salmon die, decompose and enrichen the earth. The mural features large scale representations of salmon bones and huge devil’s club leaves portrayed in a traditional Sto:lo style by Terrace-based Sto:lo/Métis artist Amanda Hugon.

The Raven Tacuara artist collective began in 2018 after four artists met working on the Rays of Life mural with Facundo Gastiazoro and Travis Hebert. The collective is a group of Indigenous artists from varied backgrounds who meld their artistic talents and experience to create stunning murals that have been painted in Terrace, Smithers and beyond.
